Islay Ales are the only brewery on the Island of Islay and specialise in creating high quality, cask and bottle conditioned beers AKA Real Ales.

Their beers are carefully crafted and only sold in a handful pubs/shops/restaurants on the island itself.  The bottles areusually only available through a select few shops in Scotland and they do not export out of the UK…

However, we are able to offer you the chance to purchase a few bottles for a one-off, short period of time!

Made using the malt from the Kilchoman distillery this ale is delicious on it’s own or of course, paired as a “half n half” with a Kilchoman 100% Islay

Official Tasting Notes

This is a beer for the summer but with a bit of a punch! Using lager and wheat malts together with Kilchoman Malt produces a golden coloured beer with a peaty, smoky after taste. While English Golding hops give their rounded bitterness, adding English Bramling Cross hops as both a flavour and aroma hop give Kilchoman Pale a refreshing and citrus, lemon and grapefruit nose and taste but with peat!!
